| Abstract | The largest specimen known (standard length, 314 mm) was collected off New Smyrna Beach, Florida, in 210 fathoms. A detailed description is presented from measurements and examination of the intact specimen. Since the specimen is no longer available no name is proposed for the species. A brief discussion of the gigantactinids is given with reference to the present record and the principal literature reviews of the group. || ABSTRACT AUTHORS: C. R. Robins |
