| Abstract | The range of M. valenciennesi is extended to include the Red River drainage of N. Dakota. M. carinatum is recorded for the 1st time from Pearl River, a Gulf Coast drainage. Ozark specimens of carinatum frequently have 10 pelvic rays, a fact that contributed to its early con-fusion with M_. duquesnei. Ptychostomus haydeni Girard is removed from the synonymy of Minytrema melanops and placed in that of M. aureolum. Three specimens of Moxostoma from Ash Creek, Arizona, reported as congestum, represent aureolum and the locality is noted to be in error. Minytrema melanops does not occur in Atlantic drainages n. of Albemarle Sound, N. Carolina; specimens listed from Chesapeake Bay are re-identified as M. macrolepidotum. || ABSTRACT AUTHORS: C. R.
