They are described in detail, their morphological variation noted and their distribution and relationships discussed. All belong to the subgenus Scartomyzon of which robustum of s.-e. United States is most closely related. A n. ssp. of austrinum is diagnosed and M. albidum is considered a ssp. of congestum M. austrinum and M. mascotae are the only members of the speciose genus, wide ranging in e. N. America, that occur on the Pacific Slope of N. America.
