Research

Ichthyology studies fishes, and conducts most of its research in the areas of phylogenetic systematics and evolution. Curator Ed Wiley focuses on the ontology of species and monophyletic groups and their relationship to evolutionary theory. Ichthyology also hold interests in the philosophy and methodology of phylogenetic systematics.
